Egypt solar RFQs due on 19 Feb

Egypt’s ministry of power will launch a competitive bidding system for solar projects totalling 500MW in Q1 of this year, with developers scheduled to submit RFQs on 19 February. According to Lamiaa Youssef, head of private sector projects at the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), 15 developers have so far met pre-qualification documentation requirements. Arab and international companies are expected to submit their bids as competitive tenders on a build, own, operate (BOO) basis. The plants will be located in Minya, Upper Egypt, and Aswan in the south.
