EIB backs €6.5bn energy, SME, transport and urban investment

The European Investment Bank has approved a total of €6.5 billion of new financing for 36 projects in 17 European Union countries and schemes in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It includes €1.5 billion of financing for the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) that will cross Northern Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea before coming ashore in Southern Italy to connect to the Italian natural gas network.
