World Bank agrees loan to Jamaica for MSME credit guarantees

The World Bank has agreed to lend $15 million to the Development Bank of Jamaica to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) via partial credit guarantees and an SMEs fund. The objectives include raising $10 million from private funders and guaranteeing 1,000 loans to MSMEs. The loan to the Development Bank of Jamaica has a term of 30 years with a five-year grace period on repayment.
