AfDB bags $52.5m financing for 100MW of Zambian renewables

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) will provide a $50 million loan and a $2.5 million grant to the African Development Bank (AfDB) to support 100MW of primarily solar projects in Zambia. The projects will make use of Zambia's feed-in tariff programme, which was launched in 2017 for projects up to 20MW in size. It is the first program that will be co-financed by the GCF and the AfDB.
