ADB signs deals worth $375m to improve irrigation, PPPs in Punjab

The Asian Development Bank has signed two loans with Pakistan worth a total of $375 million to improve irrigation services and promote public-private partnerships in Punjab province.

The $275 million Jalalpur Irrigation Project will develop a surface irrigation system in Jhelum and Khushab districts of Punjab by drawing water from Jhelum River at Rasul Barrage. ADB is also providing $100 million loan for a project supporting PPPs in Punjab.
