EBRD finances smart grid development in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is providing a €15 million loan to finance the reconstruction of the medium and low-voltage power network in Elektrobijelijina's distribution area in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The funds will also finance the installation of smart meters.

The financing is provided as a loan to ZEDP Elektro-Bijeljina A.D.Bijeljina, the state-owned power distribution company in Republika Srpska. Up to €7.5 million of the loan will be provided by the Green Energy Special Fund, established and administered by the EBRD with the contribution of TaiwanICDF.
