The African Development Bank and Africa50 are cofinancing a planned new $550 million bridge between the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The bridge will span the Congo River, measuring 1,575m in length. The road link will feature a lane in either direction while the rail connection will feature a single line of track. It will carry both road and rail links, providing a direct connection between the capital cities of both nations, Brazzaville and Kinshasa.

The cities are currently linked only by a ferry service.
