Slovenia approves plan for Koper to Divaca rail line

The Slovenian government has approved a new plan for the financing of the proposed new railway line from the port of Koper to Divaca.

Costs for the €1.194 billion ($1.37 billion) Second Track project include €1.15 billion for construction, €32 million interest and financing costs and €12 million towards operating costs state's project manager 2TDK. The financing programme was designed by Deloitte

The state would provide €522 million, with the remainder coming from EU grants, loans from international financial institutions and the national development bank SID Bank.

Construction is planned for 2019-25.
