EBRD to co-finance $87m wastewater project in Zadar
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to provide a senior loan of up to €4.5 million euro to co-finance a wastewater project in Croatia's coastal city of Zadar. EU Cohesion Funds will also provide financing.
The total cost of the project for the reconstruction and expansion of the wastewater network is estimated at $87.4 million (€78.5 million).
The project includes the rehabilitation and upgrade of 91km of wastewater network and the upgrade of two existing wastewater treatment plants to reach EU and national environmental standards. It will also increase connectivity to the wastewater system by creating access for some 95% the population in the area, up from current 75%. The EBRD will extend the loan to municipal utility company Odvodnja.
