The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has signed a €101.2 million (about $122.9 million) loan deal with Belarus-based Minskenergo to finance the supply of power equipment under a contract with SIEMENS Energy as part of the project to construct a 300MW peaking power plant at Combined Heat and Power Plant 5.

To finance the project, the EDB raised a loan from a consortium of German banks – KFW IPEX Bank and Landesbank Hessen Thuringen Girozentrale. The loan is insured by EKN, the Swedish export credit agency.
