EBRD hires new green economy, climate action MD

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has appointed Harry Boyd-Carpenter as Managing Director, Green Economy and Climate Action. The role is a key position for EBRD's delivery of its goal to become a majority green bank by 2025.

Prior to his appointment, Boyd-Carpenter was Director, Head of Energy, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He joined the bank's Office of the General Counsel in 2005, having worked as a project finance lawyer for Allen & Overy and for the European Agency for Reconstruction in Kosovo, before moving to the EBRD’s Banking team where he worked for more than 12 years, promoting investment and policy reform in the energy sector across a wide range of emerging markets and transition economies.
