JICA supports power sector reform in Japan with $237m loan

The Japan International Cooperation Agency has signed a loan agreement with Egypt to provide an ODA loan of up to JPY25 billion ($237.3 million) for power sector reform.

The objective of the program is to enhance sustainability and stability in the power sector through supporting policy reforms such as improving both governance and financial sustainability and promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy for green growth. The African Development Bank and Agence Francaise de Developpement are also supporting the programme.
