Brazilian regional development bank BRDE has raised a €50 million ($62 million) 10-year loan (inclusive of three-year grace period) from Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD) to support renewables projects in southern Brazil.

Over the next three years, AFD and BRDE will identify projects for potential support. Technical cooperation focuses on monitoring the impacts of projects, consolidating BRDE's social and environmental policy and supporting the development of its portfolio of green projects. The cooperation program will be supported by an additional grant of up to €800,000 provided by the AFD Expertise and Exchange of Experiences Fund (FEXTE).
